Specialist Care
Dementia is a common condition that affects about 800,000 people in the UK. Your risk of developing dementia increases as you get older, and the condition usually occurs in people over the age of 65. Dementia is a syndrome (a group of related symptoms) associated with
an ongoing decline of the brain and its abilities. This includes problems with, memory loss, thinking speed, mental agility, language, understanding and judgement.
People with dementia can become apathetic or uninterested in their usual activities, and have problems controlling their emotions. They may also find social situations challenging, lose interest in socialising, and aspects of their personality may change.
Alzheimer Care
Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, affecting almost 500,000 people in the UK. The term "dementia" describes a loss of mental ability associated with gradual death of brain cells. The exact cause of Alzheimer's disease is unknown, although a number of things are thought to increase your risk of developing the condition
At Passion4Care Healthcare Services, we provide a range of practical support to our dementia care service users; we assist with everyday activities such as personal care and dressing through to meal preparation as well as help administering medication. In addition to this hands on support we also offer much needed companionship, providing the sort of social interaction which can help dementia patients to stay engaged and active.
Palliative care
If you have diagnosed as terminally ill, our palliative care will make you as comfortable as possible by controlling pain and other distressing symptoms, while providing psychological, social and spiritual support for you and your family or carers. This is called a holistic approach, as it deals with the "whole" person rather than just one aspect of care. You may receive palliative care early in the course of your illness, together with other therapies to treat your condition, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, before you are considered to be nearing the end of your life.
Passion4Care Healthcare Services can help ensure that a client is comfortable and supported within their home environment. We are experienced in working with relevant health teams and professionals to ensure a co-ordinated and seamless service.
